The Junior Entomologist program at Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium introduces students entering the 9th-10th grades of the Fall of 2014 into the world of arthropods. Students will learn teamwork and public speaking while participating in hands-on learning activities through public programming. The Junior Entomologist program requires a commitment of 200 hours over the months of June and July. These hours are earned by attending three days a week from 9:00am -3:30pm each of the three days. Shift availability will be determined based on departmental needs occurring Monday - Friday.
Requests for applications begin November 1, 2013. and must be received no later than March 1, 2014. Interviews for applicants with completed applications will take place in March. If accepted into the program, volunteers are required to attend a half day orientation in May followed by a one week training course the first week of June.
